Summer in Halloween Town Ch. 2

It was 12:30 in the afternoon, and Jamie finally was going swimming. Jamie and Samara went back to Jamie's house, and Barrel went back to the clubhouse.

"So, you don't have a bthing suit?" Jamie asked Samara.
"No, I'll just wear this I guess. I've been in the bottom of a well for a while wearing this, so what's the difference?"
"True. Okay, I'll be right back!"

Jamie went up to go change. She ran into Sally.

"Oh! Sorry Mommy!"
"What's the rush, honey?"
"Me and Samara and Barrel are all going swimming, so I gotta go change!"
"Oh, okay..."

After a couple minutes Jamie came back down wearing her same dress with her bathing suit under it.

"Come on, Samara! Let's go! Barrel's probably waiting for us."

It felt like they had walked in and walked out, but now they were going to the lake. Once they got there, they saw Barrel at the top of the waterfall wearing some green-ish black trunks.

"Barrel!" Jamie waved.
"Come on you guys!"
"What are you doing up there!?" Jamie asked.
"I'm gonna jump! Come on!"
"Are you crazy!"
"Will you just come!"
"We're coming!!!!"

It took a while to get on top, but Jamie and Samara made it. They were out of breath. Jamie was just about to take her dress off when Barrel stopped her.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing!?!"
"I've got my bathing suit underneath, stupid!"
"Oh."

Jamie rolled her eyes and took it off. It was a two piece, pretty much the same colors that were on her dress.

"So you're gonna jump? Are you insane?"
"Oh, come on, it'll be fun. Right Samara?"
"Well, I guess."
"See?"
"Fine...you go first."
"Okay!"

Barrel looked over the edge. He took a few steps back, shut his eyes tight, then ran and jumped.

Jamie and Samara looked over the edge. They looked worried and amazed. Then they saw Barrel's head pop up out of the water.

"Come on you guys! It's fun!"
"....Samara?" Jamie asked.
"*sigh* Fine."

Samara jumped, but she didn't scream or anything. Being thrown down a well is worse. Samara gasped for air after she came up out of the water.

"Okay Jamie! Your turn!" Barrel yelled.
"Uh...o..kay."

Jamie looked over the edge.

"Are you gonna jump?"
"Yes! Be quiet! I'm concentrating!"
"....are you scared?"
"NO!"
"Jamie, you don't have to do it if you don't want to!" Samara told her.
"Chicken!"
"Shut up Barrel! Everyone says I'm scared of everything! Well not this! I'm gonna do it!"

Jamie took a deep breath. Just then, Jack showed up. he was suppose to keep an eye on them. He saw Jamie on top of the waterfall.

"Jamie!?!"

Jamie ran and jumped off.

"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"

She hit the water, but she didn't come up.

Samara covered her mouth, worried. Barrel swam over to see if she was okay. He saw some bubbles, then Jamie poked her head out of the water.

"A-am I dead?"
"No!"
"Because...THAT WAS AWESOME!! Let's go again!!!"

Jack sighed and walked over to them.
